#4 Suilven and Ben Loyal (April 2019)

For my 50th I treated myself to a long, solo weekend in North West Scotland. Camping at Durness, I climbed  Assynt Suilven and then  Ben Loyal. 

The long approach to Assynt Suilven sees it change in shape from a Dome to a mass of sheer impenetrable rock.

Ben Loyal is the most amazing mountain with multiple peaks, a ridge with 360 degree views and the tragic remains of an old air crash that seems invisible on the way up but glistens in the sun to guide you on your safe descent.
